This page explains what information this course stores, what is shared with Queens Village Columbus, and what remains private on your device.

The short version

Most of what you do in this course stays with you.

Your personal notes, Reflection Guide responses, Pause + Practice activities, and Concept Check answers are stored only in the browser on the device you are using. They are not sent to Queens Village Columbus or The Educated Birth.

Queens Village receives only basic enrollment and course progress information so they can understand who is using the course and whether participants are completing it.

What stays on your device

The course may save the following information in your browser:

• Your name and email address
• Your partner or support person’s name, if you choose to add one
• Your course and module progress
• Anything you write in a Reflection Guide
• Your personal notes
• Pause + Practice steps you mark as complete

This information is stored using your browser’s local storage. It is not a user account and does not automatically follow you between devices.

If you open the course on another phone, tablet, or computer, your locally stored information will not appear there. Clearing your browser data or using certain private-browsing settings may also remove it.

What Queens Village can see

When you begin the course and as you make progress, Queens Village receives a limited record containing:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your partner or support person’s name, if provided
• Whether each course is not started, in progress, or complete

This information helps Queens Village understand how many families are participating and whether participants are progressing through the program.

Services used by this course

A few outside services help the course function:

• Google Fonts provides some of the typefaces used throughout the course. Your browser may connect with Google when these fonts load.
• Google Sheets receives the limited enrollment and course-progress information described above.
• Netlify hosts the course website and may maintain standard technical server logs associated with operating the site.

This course does not use advertising, tracking pixels, or analytics to monitor which lessons you read or how long you spend using the course.

Sharing something from the course

Some parts of the course may allow you to share your own notes or local resources using features available on your phone or computer, such as email, text messaging, or your clipboard.

When you choose to share something this way, your device handles that action. Your personal notes are not sent through Queens Village or The Educated Birth, and we do not receive information about who you share them with.

Clearing your information

To remove the information stored locally by this course, open Your Profile and select Clear everything on this device.

This will remove your locally stored profile information, notes, Reflection Guide responses, activity progress, and course progress from that browser.

If you would also like your name and email address removed from Queens Village’s participation records, contact queensvillagecolumbus@gmail.com.

If you’re using a shared device

Signing out does not erase information stored in your browser.

If you are using a shared or public device — such as a library computer or a phone or computer used by multiple people — select Clear everything on this device before you leave.

For greater privacy, we recommend completing personal Reflection Guides and notes on a device you control whenever possible.

Children

This course is designed for people who are pregnant, preparing for birth, or preparing to parent. It is not directed to children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If the information this course collects or shares changes, we will update this page to reflect those changes. You can check the Last updated date above to see when this policy was most recently revised.
